Tempur Sealy Pediatric Sleep Center Grand Opening
— by Tempur-Pedic on Jul 31, 2024
The Tempur Sealy Foundation was established in 2017 with a mission to better the lives of children and families across Kentucky and the nation. Making a substantial impact, the Foundation has donated more than $4 million to various projects and charitable initiatives since its inception.
In May of 2021, the Tempur Sealy Foundation made its most significant gift to date, providing $2 million to the Kentucky Children's Hospital to help establish the Tempur Sealy Pediatric Sleep Center. Fast-forward three years, and our team is now celebrating the official opening of this groundbreaking location. It marks a significant milestone in our commitment to empowering individuals to achieve improved health and well-being through restorative and rejuvenating sleep.
This state-of-the-art facility, now one of only three in Kentucky, will revolutionize how people understand and address childhood sleep disorders and provide a much-needed resource for Kentucky children and families. Studies have shown that almost 50,000 children in Kentucky would qualify for a sleep study during their childhood. Three out of four children with ADHD, 83% of children with autism, and as many as 80% of children with seizure disorders struggle with sleep.
The Tempur Sealy Pediatric Sleep Center operates six nights a week and is designed with child-friendly décor to relieve anxiety and create a comforting environment for children to rest. The center uses advanced technology to monitor the patient's sleep quality and diagnose and treat various sleep disorders. During the day, patients will be evaluated in the clinic for treatment, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their sleep health.
We're honored to partner with Kentucky Children's Hospital to open this essential center – a testament to our shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of children. We know that sleep is not just a necessity but a fundamental pillar of health, and we're grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Kentucky's children.
